ICS Business Continuity Plan

In the event of an ICS outage, ICS slow response times, ICS specific issues, and/or client system problems it is critical that industry be able to continue normal daily business with minimal disruption through alternate cargo reporting procedures.
Customs, in partnership with Industry and AQIS has developed an Integrated Cargo System (ICS) Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

BCP file specifications

The current BCP file specifications and file naming conventions conform to the ICSBCP Database. These are used by software developers to generate csv files which can be imported and processed by the ICSBCP database.
During a contingency, Industry clients will be able to send csv files as an email attachment to Customs for processing.

Note: Due to processing considerations, all CSV files should be limited to 1000 lines or less.

This document is a PDF document ICS BCP help guide (872KB) - This step-by-step guide will assist industry in populating the contingency files and submitting them to Customs for processing. The guide provides details for each contingency transaction type.
